ICCV was started in the United States in 1965 after a protest of clergymen. In the US its parent body was the International Fellowship of Reconciliation, a religious pacifist organisation, but in New Zealand it developed from the Christian Pacifist Society. After the withdrawal of US troops and the eventual takeover by the PRG, ICCV worked for the release of Political prisoners and sponsorship of orphans. ICCV was dissolved in 1976 after loss of contact with sources within Vietnam.
